"This pediatric office is BY FAR the WORST office I've ever had to step foot in. Trust me when I say I've seen my fair share of pediatric offices. Being an active duty Marine Corps wife we move often. Having worked at pediatric offices most of my adult career I can say that honestly & truthfully these receptionist are super lazy! Instead of me signing a medical release form for shot records and such at my childrens well child check ups I was told to reschedule until they got the records. Seriously, all that would have took was me signing the release form and them faxing it to the fax number I had provided them with & wa-la the previous office wld have faxed over what was needed. Instead we had to wait & reschedule! On another account I took my *then 17mth & 4yr old* boys in bc they were sick, I was told "it is a virus going around". Me knowing better, I took my 17mth back two days later (he wasn't getting over the "virus"). The Dr we seen that day done a more extensive examination bc I was rude & expected nothing less. He ordered a chest xray verifying my son didn't have the "virus going around", he indeed had pneumonia! They are open for "sick visits" on Saturday (which I originally loved) but what should be said is... we are open only on Saturdays to see the minimum of 2 pt's. I called on a Saturday bc my oldest son 4, had a fever of 103. I just knew he would be seen, a temp that high definitely means he is a sick kid. Instead, I was told they could not see him they were all booked for the day. My phone call was made at 9am, so my conclusion then was; they must schedule non sick visits on Saturday also. I took him to the ER instead and he was treated promptly. As the ER at Children's Hospital done xrays they informed me he looked to have been getting better from the pneumonia and the fever was caused from something else. This wasn't the child who had pneumonia! Of course when I took him to this pediatric office two weeks prior with his baby brother they both had "a virus that's going around". When I complained to our FRO & insurance provider they had me to write word for word what happened, as they were going to do an investigation and see about having them pulled from being a Tricare provider. Today was the last time I will be dealing with this office!!! It's a Saturday of course & my oldest son wakes up... "my tummy hurts"... a few minutes later hes vomiting. My husband suggest calling his pediatricians office since they are open on Saturdays for "sick visits" (I was on my way to the ER), I called: Ring, ring... I pressed 2 for an appointment, someone came on the line.. "Knoxville Pediatrics"... "yes, I need to make an appointment for my son today, he's" (notice interruption) "we don't have any appointments left for today", "of course you don't". People who have no regards to children's health & assume they have a virus that is going around SHOULD NOT be a pediatric doctor. Pediatrician offices who are open on Saturday to see "sick visits" should have a staff who WANTS to be there on that day not someone who just wants the extra money on their paycheck. This is the 5th pediatric office we've been to since my first son was born (4.5yo) and it is without a doubt the WORST I've been to. I'm not a difficult person, I'm just a mom who wants her children taken care of when they're sick!"
