"Innovative Roofing and Siding did a nice job on our new roof after storm damage. Dakota came out to inspect the damage and was detailed, kind, and professional. We signed a proposal with a 4-6 week start window, but after five weeks with no updates, I contacted him. I was told we were next on their list and they would start as soon as there were a few dry days. Dakota said Jimmy would call to schedule the job, but we heard nothing for another 1.5-2 weeks. Finally, after reaching out again, Jimmy emailed to start the following Monday, giving us less than one business day of notice. While it felt last minute, we were excited to begin. At the time we signed, we tentatively chose "charcoal" shingles as we hadn't officially closed on our new home. I reached out to Jimmy to confirm the color, but the charcoal shingles were already on the truck. Fortunately, they managed to switch to our final choice. However, the communication remained poor. I was never formally introduced to the head roofer and was not told approximately how long the job would take or if they would work through forecasted rain. The rain came and without an update they worked hastily through it. Even our neighbor suggested we get a roof inspection due to the apparent rush. As the job was nearing completion, I received the total cost handwritten on the back of a business card, which felt unprofessional given the expense. Jimmy assured me he would knock on the door once they were completely done to ensure our satisfaction. However, the next time I looked outside, everyone was gone without a word. I found several nails and debris, the side gate where our dog stays was left wide open, and our front porch was a mess, forcing me to clean up. In the days following the project, I discovered even more nails in our planters, grass, and other areas, which is particularly concerning as my 16-month-old son plays there. Thankfully, after I asked, they said the crew would return to collect the remaining nails. I wasn’t home during their visit, but upon returning, I noticed our side gate was wide open, I reviewed our security footage and saw they had come to clean up and left the gate ajar again. The incomplete state in which they left the job made us question the potential shortcuts taken on the roof itself. Although the roof looks good from a distance, their professionalism, attention to detail, and communication need significant improvement."
