"Unfortunately, not every stylist is professional. I spent over an hour in a consultation via cellular phone with this stylist. My very first time speaking with her. I actually thought this person would be great. She gave a long oration on being on time for appointments and cancellation. There is a $50.00 deposit for those individuals who cancel without calling her. She made my appointment in the evening at 5:00 p.m. for Boho box braids medium. Her price is $140.00 for a Bob style short. Well , since I am a stylist instructor of 40 years in the industry; I chose to do a follow up to make certain I indeed have an appointment. This woman didn't have the same professionalism and/or intelligence to confirm my appointment. She not only failed to confirm after an hour of conversation on Monday, but on Friday the day of the appointment at 2:40 p.m., I decided to call her. This woman left with her family the night before without calling me at all. To my surprise, She says I am so glad you did call because I am in Atlanta for the holiday weekend. Now, if I was an unprofessional person , I would have some choice words. This type of professionalism is why our community is so far behind other groups in Business, I was attempting to let her know that July 4th weekend is very hard to do business for other groups. However since most of our community can read and go to school, I have absolutely no understanding (WHY ) African Americans anywhere in this country would celebrate the Independence of Day English Settlers who stole your birthright. June 19 1865, was supposed to be our freedom. However December 6 1865 was the day over 200,000 men, women and children were still enslaved in the other parts of America. Additionally, 1970 in the United States of America there were still families in the state of Mississippi and Alabama who suffered enslaved. Mae Louise Miller and many others. So what in God's name is this unprofessional person CELEBRATING???? perhaps she doesn't know!! Yes, I am Ms Spencer..."
