"I didn’t live at 825 S Prospect but everything said about it is very true. I would go to visit my boyfriend there and the house was already a dump when he moved in and they promised him many times they would fix stuff but never did. After he moved out they charged him $10k in damages that he didn’t do. The judge sided with Cy Marlow automatically and didn’t give my boyfriend a chance to tell his side of the story. I’ve went to the LJ michaels office a few times with him and the management was extremely rude every single time ( especially Cy’s daughter and Marie). I talked to someone else who went through them and the same exact thing happened. They move you into a dump and promise to fix it up until you move out and charge you for everything that was messed up before moving in. If i could give negative stars i would. Cy should win slumlord of the century. ALSO THEY SOMEHOW MADE IT TO WHERE MY BOYFRIENDS REVIEW DOESNT SHOW BC OF HOW ACCURATE IT WAS. it took them MONTHS TO FIX THE CEILING he couldn’t even stay there bc of how bad it was at certain points raccoon feces would fall down and you could here them up there at night. no one ever came to inspect he would have to wait weeks for maintenance to come. he did withhold rent because of the fact they weren’t fixing things and the house was becoming inhabitable so they decided to charge him thousands to fix stuff he didn’t cause. he was also told at one point and i was there when he was told by CY Marlow he was one of the only properties they received rent from so they probably just needed the money because they were going in the hole. they only rating filled all the way is the 1 star rating for a reason."

"One of the worst companies in business.. they appraised a 475k 2200 sqft dollar brick home newly remodeled for 250k with 10 acres of land. It had a nice 2 acre pond and huge bucks on the property. They have no clue about real estate. Better choose someone else ."

"Coming from a current employee, tenant, and of a personal relationship with this company, most reviews associated are farse complaints. This company is a family ran company with 11 employees all with designated jobs....as well as managing listings, property management, and of over 100 other rentals. We 11 strive at our jobs so no one here does anything based on being broke...we are not slumlords or are abusive of tenants rights...and we didn't still money from any disabled man. As they say, there are 2 sides to a story and those stories are never shared and left reviews give a bad image of which those know set the bar. We strive hard to find rentals for the right family based on criteria to make sure people won't struggle to pay bills in our homes. Too, we strive to show and sell all listings so we're not sitting so long on the same. Complaints on listings and rentals are done on a timely manner and based on a chain of command system; we are the primary of repos of which our abilities are based on higher authorities (banks). As a tenant, I had a hard patch with paying due to unforeseen issues and they worked with me on getting back on track. Many hope to push the envelope and I've witnessed this with current and past tenants while working here. As long as you're honest and reliable, we work well with tenants....as they have done for me. As in a personal relationship, they have been wonderful to me in the past year due to the diagnoses of my husband's cancer...not because I am an employee...not because I'm a tenant....because I am human. The LJ Michaels family is very understanding and only have a few requirements as a tenant. We're sorry that past tenants and others had bad experiences, but I want those in the future to know that we try and it's best to ask rather than assume."
