"I was planning on selling my condo and needed a skylight replacement. The realtor I was working with referred me to Brad Lough. I had him out to provide a quote on the skylight and pay 50%. The day of replacement comes and when his guy got on the roof, he said the skylight didn’t need replaced, and that they needed sealed instead. I asked Brad, while pointing to the discoloration on the wood frame of the skylight, will it fix that issue. Of course, the damage to the frame is done, but he said it would stop the issue. I pay him $1500 to seal all 4 skylights. I then start getting bugs enter in my bathroom skylight which I didn’t have that issue before, and I reached out to Brad and he said he would look into it and I never heard back. I was monitoring the original skylight I contacted him about and noticed the issue was getting worse. I had my suspicions that sealing the skylight would not fix the issue, but he’s the expert, right? I contact him once I knew for sure water was getting in and provide photos. He says he will come out, we schedule a day/time, he no shows. I reach out to him, he had some excuse. We schedule another time, he no shows. Both times I have had to reach out to him after it was obvious he wasn’t coming out. The second time I requested a refund of the original payment since the issue I originally contacted him about remains unresolved, or I can take him to small claims court - his choice. He calls me and says he got back in town late. I ask why he didn’t reach out? Then he proceeds to be completely disrespectful on the phone, and then started saying the issue is caused my condensation from having the heat on (????). No, this is not correct. He acted like he did me a favor by having his guy seal the skylights although I paid him the agreed upon amount. He then said this is why he doesn’t do this type of work and he is 3 years from retirement and about to make his last college tuition payment. Again, I was a paying customer and merely asking him to come take a look and he no showed. He kept talking over me/interrupting me and when I mentioned how he didn’t ever get back to me on the bug issue, he said I’m not a bug guy/exterminator, and he said that a couple times. No one said he was, the issue is that I didn’t have bugs coming in the skylight before his guy was out, and now I do. Pretty simple. I did also say that I felt like he wouldn’t be talking to me in such a way if I were a man. He ends up hearing me out and cooler heads prevails. We make a plan for a follow up 3/5 to schedule replacement of the 2 living room skylights. I follow up, we have a call, and make a plan to have the 2 skylights replaced 3/23 and that he will be back in touch with me to get a down payment once he checks his measurements and confirms pricing. I never hear back. I contact him this morning and say I’m assuming they’re not coming out since I haven’t heard anything. He says correct, his left kidney is still sore and he’s unable to get on my roof to assist with the project. I say all of this to say that if you receive a referral to work with Brad Lough specifically, you will find that your issue will go unresolved. Extremely unprofessional, doesn’t show up and doesn’t tell you he isn’t going to show up."
