"I have seen Dr. Carlson for many years. I was diagnosed with ADHD and I didn't think I was because I wasn't like my brother who also has ADHD. I didn't do well in school because I didn't understand what I read and couldn't concentrate among other things. He started me on medication that helped a lot. Things made sense and I was able to do my job and not be frustrated. Then I got pregnant then breastfed for a year. When I went back to him to get back on my meds he told me I didn't need them anymore. My son is now 3.5 years old and he's been diagnosed with severe ADHD and developmental delay life has been rough. I have a hard time with him and I have been trying so hard. Paperwork for his doctors and speech and therapy just so many important things that I need to be able to do for him and none of the paperwork got done because I don't understand or have anyone to help. I spend so much time frustrated because I don't understand why he could choose with my life when he is not me and doesn't understand how hard things are when your mind is always racing and nothing makes sense. I have tried to see another doctor but they don't believe me and won't give me meds. So what am I supposed to do so I can be right and do the things I needs for my son? I am just so sad and disappointed because I liked him as a doctor till he made this choice and don't care how it would affect my life."
