"Great park and well maintained beach - wouldn't go swimming on the Indiana side though on account of the industrial pollution right next door. Making Illinois people pay to park isn't exactly a nonpolitical thing to do unless you have a balance sheet to prove you're putting it back in the park. Was sort of clean, and certainly wasn't busy in Spring 2023."
"$10 Dollar out of state parking, beach and a small bird sanctuary hiking trail. There are two beaches located on the property, one immediately next to the parking area and another at the opposite end of the park. The bird sanctuary trail itself is a tight one person wooded trail that was a tad overgrown and was full of spider webs. Be sure to grab a stick before going down the trail to wave the webs away if you don't want to be covered. Overall if you're looking for a decent quiet beach the two options here are quality options. The trail is a good quiet escape, even if its lacking a little love."
