St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church

Welcome to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, a vibrant place of worship and community located at 7021 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, Indiana. Inspired by Romans 15:7, "Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God," we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us in worship and fellowship.

Our parish offers a spiritual home to those seeking to deepen their faith through the rich traditions of the Orthodox Church. Whether you are a new member, considering joining our community, or a longstanding parishioner, our website provides valuable insights into the life and activities of our church.

We gather for worship every Sunday morning, beginning with Orthros (Matins) at 8:15 AM, followed by the Divine Liturgy around 9:15-9:30 AM. After the service, we invite you to join us for a fellowship coffee hour in our community center. Our weekday services include the Pre-Sanctified Divine Liturgy on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and the Salutations to the Theotokos on Fridays at 7:00 PM during the first five weeks of Lent.

Throughout the year, we celebrate various feasts and special services, including the Apodosis of the Nativity of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary. Please visit our Online Chapel for daily readings, hymns, and a calendar of saints and feasts.
