"Today, I went to a restaurant that you hardly hear about and it's name is Nitas Gumbo. A friend recommended it to me and I'm glad he did. I love Cajun flavor and when I went I ordered the gumbo wings, a seafood gumbo and a shrimp po-boy sandwich for my son. The service was good, staff was friendly and the food tasted delicious. What I appreciated about the experience the most is the fact that not only is it black owned but the food was fresh and not processed. My family is from New Orleans and Nitas got the flavor right. My Gumbo was excellent and had a kick. Also, I loved the lobster tail because it was a nice touch. The wings were prepared well but the gumbo sauce is to die for. The po-boy sandwich my son devoured it on sight. It wasn't a lot of bread and a little meat but just the opposite. So, all in all it was a good experience and I will be back again. If you like Cajun flavor and want something to eat that tastes good, then give Nitas gumbo a chance to satisfy what you're hungry for."
"This was the absolute worst thing I've ever eaten probably in my entire life..... One of my good friends came into town and I haven't had this gumbo in years and I decided to stop by and I guess the old owners with the real food and real recipes and real meat.... Closed and apparently there's a bunch of kids in the back and an older lady at the register.... I'm completely embarrassed to even have bought this food knowing I know how to cook.... I feel like I would have better options in prison... You get cornbread that you can get from Walmart you get minute Rice and you get gravy with four pieces of shrimp two pieces of sausage floating around... It was extremely disgusting... I can't believe I waited 20 minutes for a minute rice..... I spent $44 here the biggest waste of money I have ever spent...... It is completely false advertising...and the gumbo wings that were suggested as great option. It tasted like some day old fried chicken and you get a the gravy in a container...... A child could warm up a can of gravy dump some meat in it and serve it to you that is the best way to describe what I experienced. I'm literally in a State of shock... And I never leave reviews... But I feel like I have to give my people a heads up before they waste their money in this place you're better off going home to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich......."
"Nita's gumbo wings are dangerously addictive, I cook and am very critical of food but I'll be Damned if the wings aren't fresh as ever cooked to order and the gumbo sauce is a unique mixture of perfection to be reckoned with and although the gumbo rice is a bit bland it's perfect with a bite of sauced up chicken... my mom was born in Louisiana and I know what it's supposed to taste like... they don't open until 4:pm either so they know what they are doing, don't need much time for a master piece to make its money. Please don't switch up, and people please don't miss out!"
"Getchu some good gumbo and more from Nita’s. Hands down some of the best gumbo in the City! Fresh and super flavorful and generous portions. Great packaging, travels well too! You will not be disappointed."
