"Each room has a theme and is full of decor related to that room. The house is very comfortable to hang out in , especially the 2 porches. The host was very nice and has been running this B&B for 20 yrs and has thought out details to make the visit pleasant. There is afternoon cookies or cake, fruit and wine available. She offered suggestions for local places, etc. It is a very small town, but really lovely to walk around and of course convenient to the ferry that goes over to Cumberland Island. Wonderful restaurants, everything is in walking distance. We were disappointed with the breakfast, especially the 2nd day. It was Easter and the host made a hard boiled egg with meat around it. I do not eat meat, so I was given 1 hard boiled egg, and each guest got a small fruit cup. I am not usually picky, but we spent $430 for 2 nights and I think it would have been nice to have more than 1 hard boiled egg.The host does try to meet everyones' dietary needs, but it was definitely a disappointment. We met some lovely folks, even a couple that stays every year on their way home from Florida. The B&B welcomes dogs. Be sure to check out the local karaoke on Thurs, nights, quite entertaining."
"The best bed and breakfast that we stayed at. We booked the Rhett & Scarlett Suite and it was so beautiful. The house was like walking back into history. Breakfast was delicious and they were so accommodating. We had an appointment to get to and they cooked our breakfast early. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area."
"Mardja is a wonderful innkeeper. We truly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious and house was clean and beautiful. Late check in and last minute booking was a huge perk as well."
"Mardja and the staff paid close attention to detail and making our stay as comfortable and fun as possible! We had a group of 12 ladies and had all but one room for one night. Mardja helped me book our ferry trip to Cumberland, recommended Molly's Old South Tours (which was incredible), and dinner at Local Dockside. We were also blown away by her delectable breakfast. Highly recommend this quaint bed and breakfast!"
"The Goodbread House is simply beautiful. The pictures don't do justice to the house or area. An old historic house with themed rooms, we stayed in the Gone With the Wind room, which paid homage to the historic movie. It's more like a suite than a single room. It has a comfortable king size bed and is quiet as can be. The host was extremely friendly, ensuring our needs were met and we were comfortable. This is a pet friendly place which was important to us, but surprising considering the house. A house this lovely doesn't seem the place to welcome pets, but they were very receptive. Overall this was a wonderful stop on our vacation, and we would love to written here again."
