"Representative Janet Adkins was a dedicated public servant to the citizens of Nassau County. She passed land mark legislation to ensure rape test kits were tested, she passed major education reforms, passed local bills to protect shrimpers, dock owners, recognized fallen officers and local community leaders and worked on obtaining funding for road projects, drainage funding and was instrumental with the new sheriffs office. Janet was passionate about problem solving and constituent service. Janet Adkins was the first woman elected to represent Nassau County in the legislature and was the 134th woman to serve in the Florida House of Representatives. Janet Adkins served from 2008 - 2016."
