"I bought a house from Mark Spota. He was both the seller and the listing agent. Right after moving in, I discovered a rat infestation. Spota claimed he didn’t know about it, but a witness told me they showed him rat droppings under a sink two months before I bought the place. Former tenants said they had rats when they lived there, and that Mark definitely knew about it. There were other issues as well—mold that was covered up, undisclosed termite damage, and electrical hazards. The seller’s disclosure statement was grossly inaccurate. I contacted Mark’s supervising broker, Jackie Smallwood. She said the disclosure statement wasn’t part of the contract, and didn’t seem to care that her agent put a dishonest disclosure statement on MLS."

"It sounds like Reese and Smallwood has some great real estate agents I only wish my family and I had of worked with one of the good ones. Mark Spota was not very professional he was rude and uncooperative he had the type of attitude that tells you he does not care about you as a person he only wants to make sure you pay the rent. I never missed a rent payment and when I moved into his property it was filthy we had to clean it up, he has this long list of cleaning and maintenance that he wanted done and did not want to give the security deposit back and nothing was torn or broken. To all those who are thinking about dealing with him scratch that. He may be nice and pleasant to some but he was not to my family. A suit and a nice smile does not make you professional some people only hide there dirtiness, wickedness, and cruelness behind it."
