"25 years of getting massage therapy as an athlete, 20 years of which were spent exclusively with One massage therapist on a monthly basis. My therapist moved out of state, so I looked for a replacement. I was asked by this masseuse via email What I Expected, I stated what I needed and was used to. No response. Just a conformation email. I then filled out the form at the office again stating what I needed, expected. She offered no disclosure of her intended method until I was already unclothed on the table. I was then told by her that she Does Not work in the way I requested, a soothing Swedish Style massage, I was told "People who want that type of service should go to Hand & Stone." I felt deceived for money. Asserting her own myopic definition of "Therapeutic". She was playing doctor. Diagnosing problems visually upon first sight in the lobby, making strange comments about my appearance and pretending to cure/fix things as though she is an instant healer. Obnoxious & Abrasive, asserting her own agenda over the requested needs of the client.....The incessant small-talk was ok if not strange, but not worth the $105. Her larynx does more work than her hands. I will continue my search for a kindly accommodating therapist. Thank you. p.s. After writing a review on another site I received a message from the masseuse which I did not open because the opening visible sentence of the message accused me of misogyny! as though unethical behavior and bad business practices has gender."
"I was referred to Vera by my sister, when I arrived for my holiday vacation from Seattle with an aggravated lower back pain that wouldn't go away despite ice, heat, rest, and over the counter painkillers. Not only was Vera responsive via my text overture, she fit me in for two sessions in what I know was a busy week leading up to December holidays. I found Vera to be knowledgable, personable, and what was most crucial for me at the time: successful at addressing my discomfort and ushering in a week where the near-constant dull pain abated to the point of full recovery. Highly recommended!"
"Vera is the therapist you need for therapeutic massage. She actively listens to your explanations and takes her time to identify the best approach for your unique situation. She will modify the pressure based on your tolerance and offer suggestions on ergonomic or lifestyle changes for your consideration. Vera offers gift certificates as a solution for those hard -to-please people on any birthday or holiday list. I highly recommend Vera Martin - The Art and Science of Massage."
"Vera is an amazing massage therapist. She customizes each of my sessions based upon my needs. I have had multiple back and leg injuries and whenever I experience any pain or discomfort, I book a 90 minute session with Vera. She focuses on where Im having discomfort and then works to find other areas that are contributing to my discomfort. I always feel more relaxed and less pain after a session with Vera. I would highly recommend Vera for anyone who needs a message for stress and pain relief."
"Vera is great! She's very easy to talk with and figure out what issues you're having. From there she focuses on those areas and tells you a little about what she's doing and how it will help. I tend to carry stress in my neck so laying on her table in a peaceful setting while she works on relieving my tension is amazing. She was a lifesaver after my 2 week vacation backpacking through Europe when my lower back and legs were so sore. She massaged and stretched me and it was wonderful! I'm very happy I found Vera and highly recommend her!"
