Welcome to the Upper Makefield Township Police Department, dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our community. Located at 1076 Eagle Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania, our department is committed to providing 24-hour protection of life and property within Upper Makefield Township, seven days a week.

Our team consists of 18 sworn officers who diligently patrol roadways, investigate crimes, enforce traffic regulations, and respond to community assistance requests. Accredited by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, we are organized into three major divisions, each specializing in various critical areas of law enforcement.

The Detective Division handles criminal investigations, forensics, drug investigations, intelligence, evidence management, background checks, and juvenile crime investigations, focusing on crime prevention and community-based initiatives. Our school-based D.A.R.E. program, Youth Aid Panel, and Coffee With A Cop events aim to foster community relations and prevent drug and alcohol abuse.

Our officers are specially trained in several Specialty Units, such as Animal Control, Crisis Intervention, Criminal Investigations, Special Response, Truck Enforcement, and Accident Reconstruction. These include home safety checks, free child safety car seat inspections, and employment fingerprinting for township residents.
