About the Business

Welcome to Vacchiano Farm, where tradition meets taste in the heart of the picturesque Skylands region of northwest New Jersey. Located at 135 Port Colden Road, Washington, NJ, our family-run farm is a testament to sustainable farming practices and authentic flavors that have been passed down through generations.
Since 1983, Vacchiano Farm has been dedicated to raising high-quality livestock and producing a diverse array of crops on our 100-acre farm. Our commitment to natural farming means our beef, lamb, chickens, ducks, and turkeys are raised in a healthy, free-range environment, without antibiotics, hormones, or growth stimulants. Each animal is allowed to mature naturally, ensuring the most flavorful and tender meats you'll ever taste. All processing is done in-house, from butchering to packaging, guaranteeing freshness and quality in every cut.
Our Farmhouse Store, located on a sprawling 300-acre site in Readington, NJ, is a treasure trove of homemade and imported products. From our famous Vacchiano-raised Skylands Steaks to savory potpies, fresh-baked breads, and traditional sausages, you'll find everything you need to elevate your culinary creations. Our store also features a variety of specialty foods, baked goods, and intensely flavorful sauces made from scratch in our facility, which is inspected by the Warren County Board of Health to ensure cleanliness and freshness.
Vacchiano Farm is not just about meats and produce; our vineyard, established in 2005, offers a selection of American hybrid wines. With 11 acres dedicated to grape cultivation, we produce well-rounded red and supple white wines, as well as unique strawberry and blueberry wines made from our surplus fruit. While we currently do not have a tasting room on-site, our wines are available at local markets and select outlets.
Visitors to Vacchiano Farm can enjoy the beauty of our fields while savoring delicious sandwiches, salads, and hot dishes at our outdoor picnic grounds. We invite you to experience the authentic flavors of the Garden State, crafted with care by three generations of the Vacchiano family. Whether you're a local or just passing through, we promise a memorable visit filled with the finest farm-fresh products and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Reviews
"Everything is fresh and delicious! Owner is a really nice guy and super helpful! Prices are great. Highly recommend the meat and the pizza sauce is fantastic!"
"I stopped in a couple of weeks ago, in mid-October, as I was in the area for work. For an upcoming family member's birthday, I purchased a pumpkin pie and a coconut custard pie. At $12.00 each, they were very reasonably priced. The pies were large and absolutely delicious. My mother and sister, who love coconut custard pie, both remarked that it was the best coconut custard pie they had ever eaten. The pies were really delicious. I also purchased some other bakery items and they were all great, very flavorable and fresh. I also purchased bread, some coldcuts and cheese, imported Italian extra virgin olive oil (love that they sell the Partaena brand, which is an excellent extra virgin olive oil to cook with and use daily), their homemade marinara sauce, and some other imported items. All in all, while some imported items were a bit high in price, other items were very reasonably priced. I have enjoyed all of the items that I have tried thus far, everything has been delicious and fresh. I will definitely frequent Vacchiano Farm market when I am back in the area and recommend it without reservation."
"I've always driven past this place and finally decided to stop. Their pies looked great, although pricey at $12. I picked one up anyway and it's like they dumped a carton of juice inside. Super disappointed at this overpriced, soupy mess. The photo was taken AFTER scooping out maybe 1/4 cup of liquid."
"Been to Vacchiano Farm Market a few times for produce and bakery goods. When my wife and I decided to try their meats, we purchased a large tomahawk steak, 2 packages of pork chops and 4 rib eye steaks as well as 4 prepared chicken items. The bill was very high, but if quality was good, that would not matter. All items we kept frozen in a deep freeze until being prepared. When it was time to for a client dinner party, we decided to prepare the tomahawk steak. It gave an awesome appearance for our 4 guests as the the huge long bone was impressive. On opening the package, the decayed smell Literally filled the room. Aside from being horrific and unexpected, it was truly the most embarrassing moment of my life!!! In front of my guests, I had to wear gloves and a mask to dispose of this dead and decayed meat to a field on my property. I am sure the coyotes and foxes were pleased. Minutes later, we discussed the issue, and it was decided that ALL of Vacchianos meats had to be disposed of , which included the pork chops, rib eye steaks, and the prepared chicken items. ALL went to the wildlife for a decayed feast. Why we trusted Vacchiano Family Farm, I don't know why. We contacted Anthony Vacchiano and explained what happened and he LITERALLY blew us off!!! He responded, and I quote, "Thank you for letting me know this. I will pass along the information to the meat manager to figure out what happened" July 10,2023, 06:39AM NO RESPONSE SINCE. Obviously, they don't care about their clients and interested in making money only! Now, I am writing this review to let all know that I am out $598 and the Vacchiano Family Farm do not care about their clients and their well being. Food poisoning was avoided thanks to the decayed smell. Be aware and be careful with family farms. We were not offered compensation or simply an explanation. Thank God it was wasn't prepared and consumed. A law suit was avoided. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. CONSUMER BE AWARE"
"Went today to try it out and find something to cook tonight. Ended up with the best ribeye I've had in years and the potato salad is delicious. Looking forward to trying the pork chops, pasta and bacon I bought. Apple cider is good too. Will be back."
