"The cheesesteak is great and the roast pork is phenomenal! Juicy, flavorful, deeply satisfying -- not to mention still reasonably priced for what you are getting, filling, and fast (despite the lines). I also appreciate that this has not become a chain, which ruined one of my other favorite steaks. Anyway, definitely worth a trip, and I can't wait to go back!"
"John’s Roast Pork is one of the best Philly cheesesteak joints. This and Angelo’s always make the top 3 in the city. The cheesesteak was perfectly executed. The meat and cheese ratio was top notch, and the cheese saturation in the meat was impeccable. Bread is crispy and never gets soggy even with the juice from the meat/cheese goodness. There’s always a long lineup but you won’t wait long. It’s not in the center of town so just uber and you’ll get there in no time."
"One of the best cheesesteak and roast pork sammies in philly!! A must stop when in south philly!!We Love to come here..we also go to johns water ice on way home..We get cheesesteaks with fried onions and Roast Pork Italiano Sandwiches with Xtra prov , long hots and gravy.. always order a size large, you get a better roll. Busy but never a long wait."
"After doing research about the best place to experience a cheese steak, I was very interested to try this place. I had flown in early that morning and was able to arrive to this restaurant not too long after they opened. All of the reviews talked about long lines but there was only 1 guy waiting for his food when we arrived. We got our order pretty quickly and saw they were getting pretty busy so I was glad we got there when we did. We sat at their covered tables to try this authentic Philly food. I've eaten a lot of cheese steaks but none actually in Philly. I ordered the Cheese steak without onion and it was good. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was really good. My son said it was good, but he connected that it didn't have enough cheese lol. They were out of cheese wiz, which is what I was hoping for. I also ordered the Italiano. It was good as well. My son ordered the chicken cheese steak. I enjoyed the flavor but he was aggravated that it didn't have much cheese and that the onions were more crunchy than he likes. I thought it was good, even though I didn't like onions so I moved them whenever I could. The fries and mozzarella sticks were good too. If I have the chance to return, I would patronize again as well as trying the other places that are in the running for best cheese steak in the area."
"Roast pork was wonderful and the small sandwich was still fairly large. Getting the sharp provolone and spinach on the sandwich was a bit lackluster. The sharp provolone tasted fine but was still cool and not melted, so it was not the best sensation. On the flip side the spinach was murdered and crying help (would have been much better if it was just barely wilted). Been there, done that, and don't expect to ever return."
