"A forgotten gem....we just returned from our first stay ant griffis camp.....very quiet and serene.....its not the Hilton but if you enjoy roughing it just alittle as we do it is perfect...mr griffis was a very top notch host...we enjoyed him showing us his collection of animals he stuffed older the years .....be sure to bring something for mosquitoes....they were very bad as the river was high and it was the middle of august.....we will definitely be returning customers"
"Amazing place to stay... Very friendly place to staff/owners. Very clean restroom, shower, campgrounds. Had some best spots to view Milky Way right outside the campgrounds"
"Second time the International PeeDee River Canoe Club has camped here. Mr. Griffis was a great host. Campground is perfect for a group. Nice to be away from cell service! People actually sit around a campfire and talk with each other."
"Rated 5 stars just because the wonder couple of Mr and Mrs Griffis who own and run the place. This is the first place I would go in case of the zombie apocalypse. And I mean that in the most complimentary way I can muster. I loved it!!! NO cell service, Barely a tv signal, wildlife that comes to your door. So quiet and peaceful I could live here forever. IN the middle of nowhere. Closest town is 10 miles away and is called Fargo, GA. One road in and out. NO bugs during the winter months and far enough south for a snowbird to sleep peacefully for a few days before heading further south or going back north. Mr Griffis is a kind, endearing, a wonderful person. He has a neat little museum on the property where you can see some of the local wildlife and learn the history. Fargo has this neat little railroad caboose in town near the elementary school."
"Very nice people. Only stayed 1 night. Wanted to be closer to the water, but had so much rain previously was a swamp. Great place if you have a small boat or canoe. Baths are clean , good hot water. Ladies anyway dont know bout the mens. Lots of huge old trees for shade. Bring plenty of bug spray.. you are in the swamp.. there will be flying bugs everywhere. Thats nature. Beautiful scenery...on the Suwannee River. Even has a small museum with some real cool things from the area. A must see."
