Gaylord Music Library

Welcome to the Gaylord Music Library, a premier destination for music scholars and enthusiasts located at 6500 Forsyth Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri. Established in honor of General Clifford A. Gaylord, a distinguished member of the WashU Corporation, our library is a cornerstone of the Washington University in St. Louis community. Since the completion of the Gaylord building in 1960, we have been dedicated to supporting the academic music information needs of students and faculty through a comprehensive collection of resources.

Our collection is designed to facilitate music research and education, offering an extensive array of music books, scores, sound recordings, videos, DVDs, and specialized research materials. We proudly house archival manuscripts from renowned composers linked to the St. Louis area and WashU, alongside rare collections such as first and early editions of Mozart and Beethoven, and facsimiles of works from the late 17th to early 20th centuries.
