Welcome to the City of Cape Water Department, proudly serving the Cape Girardeau community with reliable and efficient water services since 1992. Located at 2007 Southern Expressway, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, our department is committed to ensuring high-quality water supply and infrastructure management for our residents and businesses.

Operated by Alliance Water Resources, our state-of-the-art Cape Rock Water Treatment Plant functions 24/7, including weekends and holidays, to maintain a robust water system with a production capacity of 10.3 million gallons per day and an average daily output of 5.4 million gallons. Our extensive network spans over 300 miles of water mains, ensuring that your water supply is uninterrupted and reliable.

Our dedicated team reads over 17,000 meters monthly and addresses more than 1,000 customer service calls, ensuring prompt and efficient service. We also offer locate services for water, sewer, storm, fiber, and city electric lines, assisting contractors and homeowners with their projects.

In collaboration with Alliance Water Resources, our four-man water distribution crew works tirelessly to enhance our water infrastructure by replacing smaller mains with larger ones, improving flow and reducing water loss. They are also skilled in operating our directional drilling machine and support other Public Works Divisions in underground utility work.
