"Great people, great services. Open and accepting."
"I called first call for help with my sister danielle to get help with our electric bill since i only get disability and it covers our rent and she just lost her job a couple months ago. So our family is in need of a crisis relief. They called my sister back telling her of two churches that could help. and one was Abbey road. Said they could help with $50.00. So my sister called Abbey Road back and said hey, first call for help called me and told me that your church was one that could help with $50.00. She never said they told her to call Abbey road back , So there is a BIG misunderstanding there. BIG. And the lady i spoke with today was not that friendly and very sure of herself. Your suppose to be disiciples for Jesus, not the world. Your suppose to help people when they are in need and not turn them away. Because we all know you have funding to help those in need. and we understand you have a budget. That is understandable. But if she had of donated the last $50 yesterday when my sister Danielle called, our lights would of stayed on. They got shut off, I have kids , and we have no way to cook or fix meals, were going through a storm, not to mention our dad passing a few months ago and leaving all of us to pay for his cremation and that is why we are entirely out of funding ourself. We don't receive section 8 or welfare, we don't get anything like that, so know one pays our debts we do, but I would think in the time I need people like a church to help me in a need they would be there, and be supporting, and caring. But they are not. Jesus said in Acts 25 it is better to give than to receive. Jesus said It is a sin to despise one's neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy. Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. Blessed are the ones that help the poor, for they shall see the kingdom of God. Good works doesn't get you to heaven, but your faith in christ does and what you do of Gods work does. How I was spoken to this morning was hatefulness and I was told she doesn't help those kind of people that do that. But really my sister didn't do anything, she was just twisted on the conversation. Your not a church when you do one of God's children that way. You are just for show. And in the end you will reap what you sow. When you serve God, your to have a heart like Jesus, kind, compassionate, loving, and supportive. Even Jesus was kind to the guards that were beating him, so why can't you be?"
"Very friendly bunch! They have an amazing group of musicians from this church who play out in the community and surrounding area. The group is called Barefoot on a Sunday and they are amazing. This is a Disciples of Christ congregation which practices communion at every worship service and is accepting and welcoming proclaiming Jesus Christ as their only creed, meaning that if you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior then you’re in. If you’re questioning your faith and want to learn more, you won’t be judged by these people. You’re welcomed, also."
