"I recently went to Dr. Waserstrum for a wellness visit that was in network & covered by my insurance. I am now trying to deal with nearly $1,000 in charges resulting from that visit that were largely presented as covers by his office. Avoid if possible."
"Dr. Wasserstrom seems to be working loophools in insurance to bill twice for a single visit. My annual physical, which is covered at 100% by my insurance, cost me $50. While $50 isn't a huge chunk of money, it's unethical that the doctor sends in two charges for the visit - one for the physical and one for an extra office visit. The justification they gave me was that I raised questions about other/new health concerns. What is the purpose of the annual physical if it's not to discuss changes in your health year over year? Probably best to look for a new doctor that isn't watching their clock and counting questions for billing insurance. Another example of a broken system."
"Dr. Wasserstrom is thin-skinned and arrogant. I disagreed with his treatment recommendations. He became angry and defensive, pointing to his computer as an infallible source of information. He blows off questions about medication side effects and won't change his recommendations if problems crop up. He is fine as long as you don't ask questions. If you do, he will be unhappy."
"Dr Wasserstrom and his staff are wonderful. No waiting for my appointment, on site labs and imaging available. As an RN I recognize a good doctor when I meet one. Not only is he good, but he is personable and dares to smile and laugh with me. He’s a keeper. I would gladly recommend him to anyone I care about."
"Dr Wassertrom is a good doctor, but his staff has caused him to loose two patients. I called on Friday and spoke to the assistant, who is helpful and nice, but clearly made a mistake when scheduling my husbands appointment. My conversation was very clear with her, that my husband was sick and really needed to see the doctor the next week. She told me she had an appointment for Tuesday at 3:45 and I took it. The conformation at the end of the call was “Tuesday the 26th at 3:45” great. Unfortunately, February and March dates line up the same and I believe she was in the wrong month when she booked it. This was clearly an accident and I completely understand how that could have happened. My problem lies with the front desk for starters, who spoke to my husband like he was an idiot for being a month early, without even an apology for the mixup and trying to help. I left a voicemail for the assistant to call me back about the mixup and lets get him in there as soon as possible. Someone else called me back who should have started the conversation with a an apology and some understanding that when you are sick you need to see the doctor! I told her I wanted to speak to Mimi and she told me, she had no idea when Mimi was returning back to work and that the Dr had no appointments for the week. When I called about a rash, I got in the next morning, but my husband can’t sleep because of his condition and you want him to wait longer than he already has? No, I will find a new doctor with a staff that can, at the least, admit they made a mistake and do their very best to rectify it."
