"The best of the best."
"Dr Harris has been a dr to several people in my family for years. He has always seemed to be a good dr. Recently my grandfather had a knee replacement and was admitted to the hospital due to an infection. While he was there, he tested positive for covid so none of us were able to be there with him. Erlanger was very short staffed. My grandfather would wait hours for someone to come help him go to the restroom and sometimes nobody would show up at all. He fell twice trying to get the restroom himself. He had no walker in his room, even after asking several times. When he was released to go home, he had dried feces all over him from not being properly cared for. After a couple weeks being home, he became sepsis and had to go back to the hospital. When he explained to Dr Harris why he wouldn’t go back to Erlanger, Dr Harris responded in my chart with “needs to find a new dr”. I’m am so shocked and disappointed in this. My grandfather was terrified while he was in the hospital. I know healthcare is struggling right now and what happened at Erlanger may have been out of anyone’s control. I am not speaking bad about the healthcare workers. But for Dr Harris to respond that way has me speechless. This is his patient who is scared and sick and needs his dr more than ever. Shame on you Dr Harris. There was no reason for that response and completely uncalled for."
