Hertz Car Rental - Ofallon Highway 50 HLE

"We had made a reservation for a specific car five days in advance. When we arrived to pick it up, we were informed that the reserved car was unavailable and that only the smallest car in their fleet was accessible. It was disappointing that we were not notified in advance about the unavailability of the reserved car, as it raised our expectations only to let us down. The lack of an apology and the implication that it was our fault added to our frustration. This experience has made us reconsider using Hertz rental services in the future, particularly at this location, due to the poor customer service we encountered. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our reservation as we could not wait since the facility was closing at 5 pm."

"Absolutely terrible place to rent a car. They literally had our money and we were ready to pick up at 2 pm, tell me WHY they literally had NO cars ready and my husband had to wait over an HOUR to get a random car finally which set us back on our trip. They literally didn't answer the phone and we called them several times with questions about the gas coverage. Tell me why they charged us $260 dollars today on our credit card then nobody wants to answer the damn phone. Y'all are so incompetent and it's absolutely disgusting how much you are terrible at your job. We deserve a refund just because y'all can't even do your it right."

"I have used Hertz twice. The first time, I had no issue. The second time, it was problematic. I reserved and paid for a gas car about three months in advance. Approximately, 10 minutes before I was to pick up my car, I received a call from Hertz informing me that they didn't have a vehicle for me . I went to this Hertz location and was told that they didn't have a vehicle for me. I asked if any other Hertz in the area had one. I was informed they didn't. I was told that I could get an upgrade for an electric vehicle free of charge. As I was renting a car to go to Texas, I asked how far I could go on a charge. I was told about 180 miles. When I asked how long it takes to charge the car, I was told that it takes about 1 1/2 hours. This would have added an additional 8 hours to my trip. Additionally, I asked if the vehicle they were wanting to give me was fully charged, and I was told that it was still charging. When I called to Hertz corporate to cancel the reservation, the agent informed me that "luckily, she was able to get the $200 cancellation fee waived" Really?1?!!? Hertz should be paying me a $200 cancellation for for the disruption they caused me. I doubt that I will use Hertz again---poorly managed and organized. And, if you are the Hertz corportion choosing to respond to this review, please don't tell me to contact you customer service, I already did and the issue was poorly taken care of!"
