"I am a frequent shopper at this location for parties, school spirit days, costumes, etc. but I will not be stepping foot back in this store until this situation is handled and I will be spreading the word about a nasty employee named Deana who profiled and spoke to me like I was trash. I went in there this past Saturday 8/19 to get some things for my daughter’s birthday party. The whole time I was in there, I was followed by a particular employee named Deana (spelling may be off). I have experienced this enough in my life sadly to know what it means, but I have learned to just ignore people like that and continue on my way, especially when my kids are present and I’m trying to set a good example. Keep in mind there were a bunch of other customers but I was singled out. I got what I needed from the aisles and went to wait in line to get balloons with my kids. At this point this Deana woman had come over and was assisting another customer with blowing up balloons. After waiting for 10 minutes, she finally acknowledged me (her first time after following me around while I did my shopping) and adopted a hostile tone to tell me “You know she can blow up balloons right? I’m not the only one who has to do it.” And then told me I needed to go stand in the other line if I wanted to be helped. Her tone of voice was aggressive and flat out rude. It came off as a refusal to help me. Not wanting to traumatize my kids further, as they were already looking uncomfortable about the experience, and also not wanting to ruin my baby girl’s birthday, we went to the other line. It wasn’t until my cousin who had been looking around on her own and heard the last part came up and asked her if there was a problem that she changed her tone. The change in attitude when confronted only goes to demonstrate that she knew EXACTLY what she was doing. Her refusal to assist me while also profiling me for shoplifting is an issue I will not take lightly. My kids are traumatized, I’m traumatized, and I am furious to be treated this way in an establishment I have spent a lot of money in over the years! I have made my friends and family aware, and I have called corporate and am awaiting a response. Party City and Deana need to be held accountable for this horrible, disparaging treatment. I am appalled at quite arguably some of the worst customer service I’ve received in my life and I hope Party City addresses this accordingly."
