"Hunting land, decent area"
"Oakland Park is a limited access predominantly hunting area. Permit from the Resource Manager's Office is required to hunt. You must sign in and out and report hunting success and species hunted. No camping allowed. However, fishing is available year round with a boat necessary for access. You can fish from the bank, but they lock the gate after hunting season closes making it a long, hard hike thru the woods. Lots of ticks and snakes, and I've seen 1 bear and 2 mountain lions there, as well as plenty of coyotes, bobcats and foxes. Fishing is good, especially spring and fall and winter, but remember there are hunters with guns and bows during season. So dont go hiking and ruin someone's hunt. The eagles have made a great comeback, both Bald and Golden Eagles can be seen and photographed year round. Ospreys come back to breed and feed every year using man made nesting platforms. Also lots of other migratory geese and ducks. Please don't litter - protect our wildlife. Take only game, fish or pictures, leave only foot prints. Take your trash out with you."
