"I don't know how you can't give this place anything but 5 stars. Great history with beautiful rooms and lots of books. The family and I really enjoyed this place and wanted to see everything. The new portion of the library was nice but completely different. I really liked the map room and the courtyard also."
"One of the most beautiful libraries in America - dense with history, beautiful architecture, and extremely useful resources for the local public as well. There is a children's library inside, teen zone, tons of studying and sitting spaces, multiple dining areas (tea shop and cafe) and even an outdoor patio with greenery, seating and a fountain. While visiting we saw the local Boston radio being broadcasted live from the lobby inside the cafe which made us feel really connected to the local area. Great place to explore!"
"Beautiful building and wonderful to see the gorgeous murals from Sargent. While that was what we had come to see, the architecture throughout was breathtaking. There were several other rooms with interesting decor and artwork. Highly recommend a visit, especially as it's free!"
"Walking up to the library, you can sense the importance of this building. When entering, finding information/ self guide information was easy, and there was someone there as a directory. There was information on the architecture, and finding the actual library wasn't challenging. It's cooled and clean, and most guests were quiet for those studying. Being able to run my hands against the yellow marble felt like a privilege of royalty. There also was no charge! A must-see for those visiting Boston!"
"A beautiful landmark, amazing architecture and the 2nd largest library in the US! Worth a quick 15 minute self tour or longer stop to admire the architecture or a quiet place to study. Inside is a beautiful open air courtyard and fountain. Then up the main staircase while being watched over by two stone lions. There is a very large very quiet reading room with over 60 students studying away. Up to the 3rd and top floor where there are series of Sargent Gallery murals. When we arrived, there was a young couple posing for photos outside on the steps."
