"Very professional, the best experience I have ever had in emergency services in several top hospitals in three different states. That said... A first physician assistant (PA) gave me less time than the triage nurse, made one open-ended question then interrupted 1-2 times to override me. Didn't examine me, didn't give me a management plan. Based on this undocumented (priority) assessment, I was "parked" at "Arlington St" for 2 hours before the next staff interaction and before the drawing of blood samples. I assume they were waiting for the new shift to take over. While I waited, I asked for help at the nursing station twice and got the very average experience of a senior nurse being overtly rude, passive-aggressive and a younger nurse intervening to correct/compensate. I was there 12+ hours, dehydrated because I was not allowed to drink anything before tests and then was only given a small bag of IV fluids."
"Over 3 hours after bring triaged and no signs of a doctor. Can't walk. In pain. In wheelchair. Fractured discs. No sign of doctor. Every person from beginning to end - the gum-snapping front desk manager who wouldn't look me in the eye, to the gum-snapping person inputting data (what is it with gum???). And it's a WEDNESDAY at NOON! Come on. This is effing ridiculous."
"Emergency room front desk staff and security completely unprofessional & THE REST OF THE STAFF COULD CARELESS The worse ER experience of my life!!!! Literally listened to them talking about sexual hookups at the desk as my daughter was in pain and in need of help ALL WHILE PEOPLE ARE IN THE WAITING ROOM!!!! Just UNPROFESSIONAL AND CARELESS DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN SERIOUS NEED OF HELP!"
"READ REVIEWS BEFORE COMING HERE!!!! It’s not an ER, just a hospital I spent 8 hours in the ER with no information on delays by any of the nurses. Checked in at 12:30 and finally got a bed anda doctor to see me at 8:30 after sleeping in an uncomfortable chair for 8 hours with severe pain, an infection and a fever of 101.7, a high BP of 154, no medical aid except 2 vital checks and no messages from any nurses about the delay all the while being scared for my unborn child and myself! I came to the ER for help as i was very sick and wasnt treated till 8 hours after?!!! That isn’t how an ER should operate and isn’t right. Most of the patients got tired of waiting and left in the middle of the night but we couldn’t go because i was in severe pain and BWH is my hospital. Maybe that needs to change."
"Came into the ER in the middle of a miscarriage. Bled for a couple of hours in the waiting room. Was told the patients are seen “by severity”. Clearly a woman losing her baby is not a priority here. Went back to my hotel to bleed there in more comfort with the same level of care, that is zero: Don’t come here looking for any help for sure. Would give them negative 100 stars if I could."
