"This review is long over due now that i no longer live in boston. After seeing dr. Maghuyop as a first time patient for a yearly checkup - I was alerted that i might have sickle cell. He ordered me to do TEN blood tests and a stool sample onto top of 3 blood test i had already taken during my first visit. All these tests were required thru quest diagnostic (which of course was conveniently within the office) and I personally felt more like i was targeted to be a money drain. I ended up getting over $900 for all the blood tests. I never had sickle cell but felt scared when i got that call (i was a naive new 21 year old in a new town) and would have probably known if i was growing up."

"Dr. Maghuyop seemed quite dismissive of my concerns. While his overall demeanor was pleasant, I got the sense that he did not believe my symptoms were real. I came in with a neurological issue, and the only assessment he did was listen to heart and lungs. I am a nurse; I know there are some very basic neuro assessments that should be done for anyone with nerve/neurological complaints. His note that I viewed later suggested that he had done a more thorough assessment such as feeling my lymph nodes and checking the movement of my neck. Most of the appointment he did not look at me but was looking at the computer. He also made no mention of an MRI soon or down the road; instead, he ordered an x-ray which is not the standard for assessing nerve damage. While I am sure Dr. Maghuyop is under tremendous time constraints and needs to keep up with computer documentation, I think it would still be possible to be a more open and empathetic listener to patients."

"I saw Dr. Maghuyop today for a follow-up appointment and was so impressed with his attention, his warmth, his patient/doctor interaction, his recommendations for what I need to do and the relaxed time he gave me. I would recommend him highly."

Thorough in his questions about your concerns. Felt very comfortable meeting with him especially after having my previous doctor for over 28 years. Due to a serious back pain issue I had an appointment with Dr. Magyoup today 6/15/22 and as always the Doctor was very professional and attentive. Thorough explanation of problem and treatment plan. The office staff are very personable, kind and thorough. Amazing !!"

"Dr. Maghuyop is very attentive and cares about the well-being of his patient. My dad is his patient. English is not his first language. Dr. Mag is always respectful and speaks directly to him and engages him to participate in his healthcare. He is quick to follow up on calls for his treatment. In fact I have received calls in the evening which is appreciated and demonstrates his genuine concern. He is very thorough, kind, compassionate and highly professional."
