"I cannot believe this woman is still allowed to practice medicine after everything that happened. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about what she has done to me and my family. My father was a patient of hers for a long time and when he came to her with serious back pain, she brushed him off for MONTHS telling him to take Advil and then eventually, muscle relaxers. He BEGGED her to help and called her office every other day. Long story short, the tumor in his back broke his spine and the cancer had already spread. He died a month later. He did not need to suffer the way he did and it haunts me every day. I don't know if any of her patients will see this but please, I'm begging you, find another doctor. If this post saves anyone else and their family the heartache that I have gone through, it is worth it. And if you have suffered a loss like mine because of this woman, please consider reporting her to the MA Medical Board as I have done. She must be held accountable and has gotten away with too much for too long."
"Very disappointed with this doctor and her office. I had a physical checkup with Dr. Barr in Feb 2016. First, I had to wait for more than an hour at the waiting room. During the visit, we talked about my leg pain and constipation. She didn't seem to worry about my pain very much, and refused to do any checkup or exam. All she suggested was to take advil and fiber. Later, I found this visited was billed as an office visit instead of a preventive visit because of the simple suggestion for "advil" and "fiber". For that, insurance company paid much more, and I am also responsible for the copay. So I called her office about my concern. The office lady, Lisa, advised me, "if you only want a physical checkup without copay, don't talk with your doctor about any pain during your visit". That is just ridiculous to be heard from a hospital staff, what is the point doing preventive care at your office? If Dr. Barr seriously took care of my pain, I wouldn't have any problem paying more. However, no care was provided and wrong charge was billed. That's exactly how the health system got ruined. I don't see any reason to visit this doctor again."
