Reviews
"Plentiful parking. Can be slightly congested during rush hour."
"Easy parking. Clean. Warm. Inexpensive. No traffic. Great local diners shops coffee spots small town style and easy in and out of Boston."
"The parking lot is adjacent to the train station: a huge space at the Providence direction side and a small space at the Boston direction side. The overall capacity is high. 1) However, ALL the parking spaces sometimes get exhausted in late morning on Monday-Thursday, especially mid-week. So, if you want to park and take a train at 9:34, 10:40 or later, sometimes you might be up for an unpleasant surprise. According to one of the earlier (3 years ago) reviews here, apparently, before Covid this parking used to fill up close to 8am already. 2) When the lot is close to full, you'll need to walk about 6-8 min to the Boston direction platform from the far end. 3) Unfortunately, the parking is not free on weekend like many MBTA parking lots, although there is plenty of space available then."
"First time on commuter rail. Took the train into Boston. Lot was about half full today, Wednesday.. if you are headed north to Boston give yourself some extra time as you need to walk up to the bridge and walk under the tracks to the other side. (We had to run haha) Station was semi covered and clean. Parking is $5 for the day. You can pay by card at the kiosk or on the app."
"Lot is way too small for the commuter rail, and fills up by 8am. To make matters worse, it's long and narrow, so as it starts to fill up, the walk to the station increases linearly -- about 25-30% of the lot's capacity is in a single long lane with one row of spaces to each side. If you get there after 7, plan on a 5-10 minute walk to the station (longer if you get there closer to 8 and/or walk slowly). To make matters worse, the lot is strictly policed. park in a crosshatched area (of which there are many for no apparent reason)? $50. Tags expired a day ago? They'll actually call out the police to ticket you for that. Got the ticket that night after inspection stations closed? Better take time off work to fix that, because they'll happily call the police to ticket you again the next day. To add insult to injury, they don't even bother ticketing jerks who take up two spaces despite only paying for one. Why? My guess is, people are desperate enough that when the lot fills up they'll park in the crosshatch anyways, so why not let the jerks get two spaces for $5, and then nail someone else for $50? Oh, and don't think the over-policing means the lot is safe. At least twice a month I see new patches of broken glass where someone's window has been smashed in. I've been fortunate enough to not have it happen to me (yet -- knock on wood), but the regularity of it is rather disturbing. TL;DR: It's an under-maintained, overpriced and over-policed lot."
