Located at 2511 Garden Road, Monterey, California, Community Human Services (CHS) is dedicated to providing comprehensive and professional outpatient counseling and programs for the entire family. As a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit and Joint Powers Authority, we are committed to delivering high-quality mental health, substance abuse, and homeless services to middle and low-income individuals and families in Monterey County.

At CHS, we offer vital street outreach, shelter, and supportive services for youth, women, and families. Our work is centered around addressing the underlying conditions or root causes of personal, family, and community challenges, including addiction, domestic violence, mental illness, emotional health, homelessness, and child abuse. We empower our clients by helping them develop new skills, build support networks, adopt new behaviors, and effectively utilize community resources.

By reducing the need for social services, law enforcement, hospitals, and correctional facilities, our services facilitate positive change in the community. We also strive to improve school attendance, performance, and social outcomes for children.
