"After suffering an almost life ending coma with liver and kidney failure and whatever else was being thrown at me, I spent 3 weeks in the IRU. I always tell them they saved my life. I had to relearn to walk, climb stairs, my memory and my ability to clearly communicate was shot. I made incredible progress thanks to my Therapists, Nurses, everyone involved. I have told everyone I tell about my journey that the IRU was a blessing. I regained my strength and qualified to be on the Liver Transplant List. Thankfully today I also owe my life to my donor.
