"The staff was very friendly and informative. The audiologist is absolutely wonderful, helpful and very competent. For those who are challenged to buy and set up the newer hearing aids themselves, a certified audiologist who will test you and support you in the office may be the way to go. BUT my very expensive hearing aids are now out of warranty (as of May) AND the batteries are needing replacement every year for a cost of $325 each time (estimated to be $650/yr for 2 batteries every year from now on). One of my first batteries didn't even last one year. This seems like a high price for maintaining hearing aids that were expensive (more than $4K) and are only 3 years old. This is especially true now that there is no longer a requirement for hearing aid prescriptions and now that there are many high quality hearing aids available online, some of which are supposed to provide good online support. Most recent hearing aid reviews recommend the online companies. So although I paid out of pocket for my battery this time, I am not sure that I will be going back to HearUSA when I need the next one. As the next generation matures and needs hearing aids, I think that HearUSA may need to change their business model to stay competitive."
