Reviews of Petite Cerise
"Don’t get the Crepes!! How do you overcook a crepe…you burn it!! Plain and simple. The beverages were tasty. Get the grapefruit juice. The sauce on the burger was good. For skinny fries, go to Charlie Palmers. The other items are…meh!"
"I've been to Petite Cerise a handful of times now, both for brunch and their new fixed price dinner, with family and friends. The service is always amazing—just last weekend, I came in with my parents who were visiting, and we had the absolute sweetest server who was incredibly helpful and friendly. The food is also always great, and the decor of the restaurant is very understated but clean and cohesive. I especially love their croissant rolls, and almost all of the “shareables” for dinner."
"Lily was awesome! My random dinner selection of the weekend, Petite Cerise was a great choice. Food was creative and delicious, and the prix fixe menu was a good value for the price. My server was Lily, who was a delight, and I enjoyed engaging with her as she guided me through the menu. Justin was also a fun conversation and helpful. Pictured are the Chesapeake striped bass and fig ice cream, which were both amazing. Very happy I had dinner here tonight."
"I visited Petite Cerise three times in the last week, twice for early morning breakfast coffee and once for the Grand Prix dinner. I was introduced to this place through the Dabney, a Michelin star restaurant in DC. It wasn't my favorite DC restaurant but okay. Petite Cerise has nailed the French café vibes down to the music. It feels like walking into a Wes Anderson film. Highly stylized and chic. I'm generally pretty critical of coffee served at cafés but I genuinely enjoyed the viennois and cafe mocha I had. The breakfast sandwich was delicious if not amazing. However where Petite Cerise really shined outside of great coffee and pastries was at dinner. Chefs Phil, Alex, and their team offer a spectacular five course dinner at a very competitive price. The snacks were unbelievable. The aged cracker with goat cheese was so light and airy that it resembled a cloud more than a dairy product. These were the best oysters I've ever had. The fried panisse was truly remarkable. All of the shareables we had were amazing, especially the octopus and salade verte. The main course of bass en croute was mind blowing. Dessert was a chocolate lava cake and a truly remarkable fig ice cream. The servers were polite, respectful, helpful, and genuinely friendly on each visit. They made the experience very welcoming. They accommodated my family's pescetarian and no alcohol dietary restrictions as well. I highly recommend and can't wait to go again."
"The stuffed croissant pastry was phenomenal! I agree where others have posted that those working tend to have an unfriendly vibe and come off very annoyed to do their job. I came in for three to go pastries and a coffee to sit in (around $50), and it felt like walking on glass with the person ringing me up…not to mention not being able to find someone to direct where to sit. For their price range I would expect a more friendly atmosphere. The establishment itself was very calming and lovely."
