The Capital Grille

"Great service & delicious dishes. I’m giving it a 9 out of 10 because the complementary bread was not fresh at all. “Lobster & Crab Cakes” are one of the best crab cakes I have ever had. “Seared Tenderloin with Butter Poached Lobster Tails” is a small portion but both tenderloin and lobster were unexpectedly perfect, tender and almost melts in my mouth. What a great experience❤️"

"This was my first time dining at a Capital Grille and rest assured, IT LIVED UP TO ALL THE HYPE! NYC always has the best food, but the dishes we had here at their Wall Street location were phenomenal. I ordered ribeye steak and mashed potatoes, and I promise you, that was the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. The mashed potatoes may have been the best I’ve ever had, as well. We were also delighted with yummy lollipop lamb chops and calamari for our apps. I don’t even really like calamari, but, it was delish! For dessert, we had cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. Not a huge fan of flourless chocolate cake, but that cheesecake was so divine, I’m still thinking about it now. Lol. On top of some of the best food I’ve ever had, the service was beyond five star. I am late to the party, but officially a huge fan of Capital Grille. Can’t wait to go again!"

"Nice chain steakhouse that reopened earlier this year after 14 months due to fire damage. Steaks, appetizers were good. Nothing too impressive but servers were fast and food came out very quick which is always appreciated. Steak was cooked correctly at medium rare."

"We are jaded New Yorkers and are a bit frustrated with over-rated restaurants in NYC. Sadly, Capital Grille fits that bill. The steak is overrated, the onion soup is bland, the side dishes are mediocre, and the wine is expensive. I guess if you are visiting New York and excited to go to a New York steak house the restaurant might makes sense. But if you are a local you can do better by cooking your steak at home. We like our steak well done but juicy. Tonight the steak was well done and super dry. We started with the onion soup which was bland and under seasoned. With the steak we had mushrooms, which were okay but not a lot of flavor, Brussels sprouts, which were flavorful but overcooked, and asparagus, which had absolutely no flavor (standard for New York). The wine was excellent but expensive (also standard for New York). The waitress was engaging but too friendly, which was a bit uncomfortable. She sat at the table with us when explaining the menu which we found surprising and then again when we ordered. We found her behavior a bit too casual for our taste. Her personality probably works for tourist but was a bit overwhelming if you want a quiet meal. The restaurant is beautiful with a lot of history, which we found mesmerizing. Definitely go to the basement to see the old bank vault (but skip the meal), it might blow your mind. Go to this restaurant if you want a nice tourist experience but skip it if you are looking for a quiet and tasty meal."
