"I am so grateful for Doug and his wonderful crew!!! We bought a small humble house in Santa Cruz several years back knowing we would remodel at some point. After watching several friends and coworkers go through the remodel process we were really terrified. We talked to several contractors, all had been recommended, including DFC. The reason we choose Doug and his company (which comes with an amazing and talented designer Mindy) is because they got our vision, our budget, and always got back to us! The planning and permitting for our project took about a year, which for the scope was relatively fast. The construction start to finish was 4.5 months! "We loved working with Douglas Fossum Construction! We remodeled the kitchen, guest bath and primary suite in our newly purchased beach house. The primary bathroom was particularly challenging when it came to reconfiguring it to accomodate our wants and needs. Doug was able to come up with an great floor plan and now we have a beautiful spa-like retreat. He also made important construction recommendations along the way insure that our spaces would be beautiful and cohesive but also safe. Mindy was an amazing designer and project manager. She really listened to what we wanted in the design and guided us through the overwhelming number of desicsions that needed to be made. She accompanied us on field trips to pick out cabinets, counter tops, fixtures and hardware. She made sure that we were kept up to date on the progress and if there were any snafu's along the way. Mindy was always so cheerful and fun to work with. All of our spaces are spectacular and we have received a ton of compliments on the finished product. Both Doug and Mindy were very responsive to emails and texts and answered any question that we had. The crew and subs were professional, polite, respectful and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. We give Douglas Fossum Construction 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and would recommend them for any job!"
