"Being new here to Monterey, I was so thankful that after driving to 2 other area temples this one was open and conducting services on Sunday morning! I’m not Korean, and less familiar with this style of service but it was still fulfillingly spiritual, holy, respectful, sacred. A safe place that could feel like home. The main service area statues were good. I don’t speak Korean. Sometimes I cry in Buddhist services. This time I just received, not speaking the language and having been raised Christian charismatic, I received “it’s ok to be who u are. Relax if it is difficult to accomplish what you want. Dont stop or worry about what’s difficult. Do what you want. Work hard for what you are seeking. You have always been yourself and being yourself is what you’re supposed to be.” See I’m sure that’s not what the message was but I’ve only attended services in other languages besides English. Those are the best ones. I look forward to further English / Asian language translation understandings of the actual chants. I know it involves things about being your highest most compassionate, best self. I left here peaceful and motivated."
"You can feel the positive energy"
"I'm rating on behalf of my friend. I'm a Christian and had the opportunity to see different religious practice during the buddha bday. It is Korean based and welcomes many. It was nice to observe the rituals and people were very friendly. My local friends loved the experience. They will return again."
"If you want to learn meditation it's one of the best places to go. Master DaeMan understands very well about meditation."
"When i open the car door, i can feel the purified energy around. This temple was established by Korean Seon Master ChungHwa amd now one of his disciples, master DaeMan is here."
