"Absolutely wonderful place. The trees, the plants and the fog reminds me of the Connecticut College Arboretum in New London CT. Many beautiful pictures came out"
"It was a nice area to visit for the first time-- we just went down the main road to the end by the tree cutting. There is a sign that states no bikes but of course we saw several people biking while there. Lots of people bring their dogs FYI. The trails are numbered but I am not exactly sure where to find out more information about them, as I saw nothing on the website. Need to come back to explore more of the side trails!"
"Beautiful- easy to follow trails but far enough so you don't hear highway."
"walked my dog there every week for 5 years. We called it the dirt road. Met lots of nice people and dogs. you might see a mountain lion so be aware. great place!"
"I hike these trails at least 4 times a week with my dogs offleash. There are over 30 marked trails in the Del Monte Forest inside Pebble Beach not counting many unmarked routes that shoot off the main trails. The main marked trails are fire roads and numerically marked. The side trails are true trails and you can find a difficult steep trail (spots over 45 degrees) that starts at Haul Road, off right and up to the Huckleberry Hill scenery stop on Sunridge Road. Some loops are short and some much longer as long as 7+ miles. You can always do an up and back the same trail rather than the entire loop. You don't have to pay the Pebble Beach entry fee if you park on Highway 68 West off the Highway 1 399A exit halfway between the exit and Pacific Grove above the Morse Gate entrance to PB. Or just come visit me and you don't have to pay. If you do come inside, enter at Morse Road from 68. It turns into Congress Road and there will be several trailheads on the left side. Park in the dirt curves off the road and look for the trail markers without numbers. The best is the Crawford Trail just before Bird Rock Road, which will give you a true hike on a narrow trail in the woods. Upon return you can take Bird Rock Road and cut straight down to Seal Rock on 17 Mile Drive."
