"I used to stop here a lot when I lived in the Bay area. This place is great to stop for a quiet moment during a hike, jog or mountain bike ride. What's really nice is it's a very easy 15 minute walk from the parking lot nearby. You'll only be able to get parking on the weekdays or very early on weekends as the parking lot fills up. Once you get to the bench you have a lovely quiet vista with the ocean right in front of you and downtown SF off in the distance. It's so quiet and peaceful. If you need a quiet spot, make sure you visit."
"Amazing view of the bay, casual walk from the pantol lot to the bench"
"Beautiful place, specially at sunset. From here you have plenty of trails you can follow to either reach the coast or go to Muir woods (both downhill). However, just staying here to enjoy the views of the coast and San Francisco is enough to spend some time having a snack, taking pictures..."
"I was hiking with some friends I met at Stanford having just been discharged from the Army and going to school on the GI Bill. I came upon this bench and was very touched by it's presence and the message inscribed on the marker. Thanks to whomever thought of this, it was a very moving gesture. The view is amazing, proud to have protected this land and it's people. -holden"
