"Moderate loop, pristine environment, chaparral, redwood forest, and serene lake. Very few hikers. The trail is well marked and maintained. Parking fee is 8$. One of the best hikes in Marin County."
"Great trail to hike! Mostly flat and about 5 miles so great for beginner hikers like me. The road to get to the parking lot is narrow and a little bit scary so be mindful of that when coming. On clear days, there are great views of the lake."
"There are three beautiful lakes here with trails that access each. You can hike for a few miles or extend your hike significantly up mount Tam. The lakes hikes are easy and afford beautiful lake views. There are restrooms and well marked trailheads. I always feel like I am walking around a high alpine lake here. These lakes are true gems."
"This is a spectacular walk because it’s predominantly flat with the lake at your shoulder the whole way around. It’s enjoyed by young and old and dog friendly. It attracts a lot of families interested in fishing. You can connect to Lagunitas Lake to make it a 6.2 mile round-trip which can be done in a couple of hours. The opposite side of the lake is shady if you want to get out of the sun. Lots of redwoods and ferns and Spanish, moss and greenery, and a plethora of waterfalls."
"Super easy 4 mile hike around a beautiful lake. The (shady) west side of the lake trail is especially beautiful, but the whole thing is rather pleasant. Lots of birds and we even saw a bald eagle! Access/parking to the area is $8, I'd say it's worth it."
