"Nice trail going to the beach...so I was asked if this park has "sand pits" and while I answered no...it leads to the beach...the biggest sand pit I know of. It's basically a really nice kept trail that goes from up here to the beach. There's a couple places to park, but better parking below. There's a nice new bench with a view about halfway there. Nice view...and there's also a nice place to sit up here and look down at the ocean. Seams lots of folks gather at the top there walking their dogs around the neighborhood."
"Stairs, dirt, rocks, and low hanging power lines all add up for a thrilling hike down to the beach or up to the fancy neighborhood."
"The trail is well done. Considering I have been walking down the unofficial path from the early 70s, and then a real path when this was completed. They did a good job with tough terrain."
"A nice short trail from the Rio Del Mar Upper Cliffs neighborhood down to Platforms Beach. Wings through a small canyon opening up to the rising surf."
"Simple trail from the neighborhood to the beach. It’s more than 75 yards in length but steep incline from the beach. Warning trail has partial maintenance with some areas properly developed and equally portions that need some serious repair. Fairly steep climb for your grandparents."
