We provide Sobering Center Intake Admissions for those facing public intoxication, including individuals brought in by law enforcement, PIT, walk-ins, and referrals from courts or medical facilities.
At the Houston Recovery Center, we believe in the power of recovery and the importance of community support. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals like Timothy, who sought assistance at age 49 after 31 years of drinking, and Marcus, our first and most frequent client admitted by law enforcement. Our efforts extend beyond immediate care, as we participate in a national collaborative where leaders, stakeholders, and constituents gather annually to share best practices and innovative solutions for recovery.
We understand that addiction is a societal challenge, and through the Houston Recovery Initiative, we focus on cultivating recovery solutions and fostering social understanding. "Almost fought a crack head for telling him that he could leave any time via the fire exit. He didn't like that and had to get moved to another place. After that I got life advice from a heroin addict who spent multiple nights there a week. Figured he wasn't the best to learn from but seemed like a nice guy. Talked with a dude who had no idea how he got there and was worried the cops stole his coke, beat my breathalyzer record, slept in a half egg shell bed. 10/10, wouldn't ever go back."
"I want to thank the city mayor for opening up such a place and giving a chance to those who really out to have a good time which goes a little to far sometimes....and instead of ending up in jail. ... can actually sober up in a nice clean facility.
