"October 23rd around 4:00 pm, I had just arrived from Boston back home to Tampa Bay at this airport and my husband was in the lobby to pick me up. We grabbed my things and headed to the car in the parking lot and when crossing the crosswalk right outside of the airport front doors we saw officer Dros directing traffic. While crossing the crosswalk a truck that had already gone past the crosswalk stopped and put his vehicle in reverse and started to back into me and my husband. He came near inches from running me over. So understandably upset my husband loudly said "watch where your *expletive* going" and we continued walking. It was then we heard officer Dros mumble something to the effect of "oh stop being dramatic and move along. It wasn't that serious". So (it's important to note here that we are still walking and have not stopped for any reason) I replied "hey he almost hit us, that could have been really bad" to which he YELLED "oh SHUT UP!" We we're honestly taken back that an officer would act this way. At this point on the other side of the crosswalk, we finally stopped and turned around in shock at which point I asked him for his name and the department he works for. At this point he threatened to lock us up. Again, we were STUNNED. I pulled out my phone and asked him to restate all of this on camera and he turned his back to us and refused to say anything else. At that point we went to our car and went home. Looking back, I just cannot understand how he could have been so unprofessional and allowed to be right out front of the airport directing traffic in this manner. After calling the airport authority in hopes that the incident would be addressed with the officer, I received a phone call back saying that the officer had denied the allegations and that he could not be forced to apologize and no action would be taken. Again, appalled at the lack of concern or response on this issue!"
"These "police officers" are the least trained and most disrespectul employees at the airport. Basic understanding of the law eludes them. The airport should consider scrapping this department. In the long run it will save them millions."
"The airport is lovely, but the toilets in the Cell Phone Lot are absolutely frightful."
"I like the airport the service is always great clean"
"It's a small airport, easy on time if your flying in or out. A limited number of direct flights but if you book it properly. So much better than going to Tampa."
