"Avoid this place at all costs. The front desk staff are horrible and disrespectful and they’re incompetent. I’ve been calling for several days, if not that weeks. It’s like my number is blocked from them, or something. We’ve called him from my office number, they suddenly answered. Dr. Patel, if not the nicest physician at all. He even recommended that my daughter go on LOA from her job, but he didn’t want do the paperwork for it. YIKES!!! The front desk. Staff told my daughter, if she misses another appointment, they’ll never see her as a patient again. DOUBLE YIKES!!! Sunshine Neurology continues to worsen. Stay away from this office."
"Dr. Patel told me in 2017 that nothing was wrong. 1 MRI, 1 Lumbar Puncture, and 1 nerve conduction test later he sent me to USF. Where they identified 2 TIA's. Dr. Patel failed to tell me about the atrophy the MRI revealed in my back. He failed to tell me about the nerve damage in my left leg. He failed to identify my aphasia."
"(Wish I could give negative stars) I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Patel. Despite numerous appointments primarily with his staff, it took an unreasonable amount of time to finally see him. When Dr. Patel did see me, he had a poor attitude and dismissed my concerns, which made me feel like my time was completely wasted. It's unfortunate to see how some doctors today seem more focused on maximizing patient turnover for billing purposes rather than providing quality care. Given how easy it was to get an appointment and his poor ratings, it's clear others have had similar experiences. If you're seeking genuine help, I would recommend looking elsewhere."
"Should've read the reviews before wasting my time here. My experience was the same as other patient reviews. Definitely do your research before considering this place. First appt. was with the nurse, she dismissed half the symptoms I had, then recommended an EMG. Went in for the procedure, which started over an hour later than scheduled. The doctor walked in, started the EMG without explaining anything. Asked about my symptoms, but didn't listen, then cut me off to talk to the other person there. An EMG is a painful procedure, didn't find that out until I had needles in my legs. Then walked off the room. Told the office person to tell me to see my primary doc. What? I don't see a primary doc. Why would I if I'm seeing a specialist? Had to insist on getting a follow up with him. The office person had to go ask him multiple times to agree to see me for the test results. Two weeks later, I go back for my results. Again, had to wait over an hour to be seen by a rushed nurse. I had to keep asking questions just to stop her from walking away after giving me the inconclusive results. Walked away with no answers and no plan of care. Total waste of time."
"If I could give zero stars I would. Avoid this place at all costs. Dr. Patel has absolutely no bedside manner and could care less about his patients (at least not me). Went in for a consultation after getting troublesome news and his demeanor was terrible from the beginning. Then asked me to get a very difficult test done (lumbar puncture) and did not even give me any information on what things looked like after getting those results or what to expect. I asked what I should do for my back pain and he said whatever you feel is right. I went to see him after my procedure for a follow up and he may as well have never seen me at all because he basically started the appointment asking why I was there (look at your darn chart)! When I asked what the results were he said it wasn't what he thought it was so now I have to wait on more test results to see if it was something else. Asked me during my appointment if I was stressed, hinting that the reason for my issues were stress related as if my MRI wasnt enough to tell him it wasn't just stress. Told me to go to the front desk and when I went to check out the front desk lady told me he wanted to see me back in 4 months. I said thats not going to work for me because I have no idea what is wrong with me and he just expects me to walk around for 4 months to then see me later and act like he doesn't know why I am there. I tried to call today to see if the rest of my results were in and the lady that answered the phone was so rude with even worst customer service than him that I had to hang up. I am on a waitlist to see a better neurologist and I just hope nothing serious happens to me between now and then. AVOID AVOID AVOID!"
