"My mother called, scheduled an appointment and waited 3 months for her appointment just to be told that they don’t take her insurance when she got there to check in. They called her while she was on the way to the appointment and said that since she was driving they’d just tell her when she got there. They told her it would be $400 out of pocket for the visit. Mind you this was supposed to be a second opinion appointment and they had all of her records and results from her primary care which also states the insurance she has. Unacceptable behavior for any office in my opinion. Also of note: the receptionist was lovely and understanding but my mom left in tears out of frustration."
"Well I have been a patient for over 8 years used to go to the Port Orange office. I am diabetic and Dr. Metchick is a wonderful person and Doctor and yes a bit is coming- I have to use express scripts pharmaceuticals as my delivery of medicine. They are disorganized and sometimes lose prescription. I have great success lowering my A1C with Mounjaro. Express scripts lost my prescription and I contacted the portal for this office. I was berated on response that they sent one before and deal with Express Scipts. I had prior to portal requesting, I only said ok they lost it please send them a new one or advise me you can’t I will contact Gp. I received a phone message and response on portal that They was not a proper description and I needed to be specific and if I wanted an express scripts prescription then one had been sent before. A simple yes or no and no response berating me was in order I sent a message through portal saying this and I was disconnected from it. I called and left message with office manager and a week almost past not one reply. Two weeks without my diabetic medication and instead of help they are actively aggressive and nasty. Used to be nice now I am running away don’t need this stress for my health DO NOT EXPECT HELP FROM STAFF except Dr. Metchick or his front desk people. It’s upsetting to be with a good Doctor for so long and to be mistreated by uncaring staff!"
"I just left this place for my second appointment. The office is very robotic. I felt like I was in a virtual reality game where the people were simulating human relations but very bad at it. The front office requires all of your information every time you visit. So every visit is like your first “new patient” appointment The PA only wanted answers to her very specific and narrow questions as if I was the same as the last and next patient. I have an autoimmune disease. Have had multiple surgeries including a double lung transplant. So I am very familiar with the medical field and have never ran into an office like this. I was very uncomfortable. The pictures below show what the P.A. Crystal is ignoring. Even with the med tat I have been taking for a few months now my sugar is not stable. I ate the same thing today that I had yesterday. Today it is up and staying up for the first time ever. Yesterday was fine. The first image is from the other day when I could not get my sugar to come back up. I’m having some very close calls. I would advise that you move along to another office. These people are only collecting your payment and the insurance payment. They don’t care about their patients."
"Carolyn in absolutely atrocious! Laughs at clients and then tells them to find another endocrinologist because I am legit telling them my insurance uses my social and they didn't provide me a card doesn't. Emailed them 3 weeks ago about this and got no response! Your office staff is a joke! Telling me I'll be billed for a missed appointment when I was there and they couldn't do their jobs! Then told me to leave as I'm asking them for their email! Yes I'm frustrated and took time from my schedule to do this and they couldn't be bothered to actually do their job! Avoid this place at all costs."
"Office staff were kind and efficient. Clinical staff were likewise. Nice operation with the technology of nurse and making next appointment etc. Haven’t ever been in and out of a specialist practice in less than 45 mins. Doctor was also very knowledgeable and compassionate. Definitely keeping this doctor for life."
