Reviews
"A truck with "Building Inspector", on the truck, was driving on County Line Road, in Meadow Pointe this am. He was speeding, tailgating, and changing lanes. He turned onto Aronwood off of County Line Road, straddling the two lanes. When he came to the light on Aronwood and Bruce B. Downs, and the light turned green, he gunned his engine and sped off. Number 46696 was on the truck and license number TI999. Reckless driving and speeding in a neighborhood where the speed limit is 35 MPH is dangerous and irresponsible. I would give no star, but not possible to post."
"I think the Pasco inspectors are on Taylor Morrison payroll. Bought a new home and the inspector passed the certification of occupancy without any handrails and the electrical boxes were mislabeled and didn’t even have proper amps for the hot water tank not to mention piggy back to master 15 amp service!!!! They are a more a liability then the builder how can we sti this sloppy unprofessional service we pay for????"
"We got our pool started in 2020, now in April 2022 we are still waiting to get a final inspection. All inspections were performed in steps of completion, and all was well until someone came out to do the final inspection, that inspector failed the pool because it had water in it, ( mind you, it had already been inspected when it was empty) now the problem he found was the pool alarm, which can not be inspected unless there's water in the pool. My husband helped him by making waves in the water at which point the alarm functioned properly. A red tag was issued to our pool company for failure of the pool alarm (?) They paid the fee and the alarm paperwork was then sent to an independent engineer in Palm Harbor, and it passed with flying colors. After that we don't really understand anything, we've made so many phone calls, and just today we were told our pipes didn't pass inspection,(they did before), and now we need at least three more inspections, we scheduled one for tomorrow, for the pool inclosure,( that also already passed before). This thing is so much bigger and complicated than I can even explain. Something is very wrong with this department. We are thinking of calling our local representative, don't know what else to do."
"Booked a time for today from 8am to 11am for ac inspection. No show, no call. The private sector can't get away with doing business this way, but since you're govt. you can? I'm going to be a lot less flexible in scheduling since my time was wasted today. I'm too busy for this sort of nonsense. 03/26/22: We rescheduled and the gentleman that came out on time was pretty nice and easy to work with. So, I upped my rating from one star to three."
"Pasco County Building Inspections is RIPE with corruption! We had a post HVAC Changeout inspection done by their inspector Jeffrey Voss, subcontractor Quorum Services, not a Pasco County Employee. He managed to miss 6 out of 11 items on the actual inspection checklist. The items he missed directly caused water damage to our new AC unit and our entire house and most importantly the health of a family of 6, consisting of 4 young Children, 6 and under, 8 month pregnant wife and disabled Marine Veteran. We have toxic mold concentrations as high as 2.39 million spore per CM in our home due to the water damage resulting from Pasco County's negligence. Had the inspection actually been done and not pencil whipped, the violations would have been noted and forced the contractor to fix the discrepancies. When confronted with these issues, Stephen L. Barnoski Chief Mechanical Field Inspector replied " What do you want me to do about it?". He and Ramon Blanco, his boss's boss came to our house and admitted to 2 of the 7 code violations. Mr. Barnoski then sent an email via Pasco County stating it should have failed for these two items. I called Dan Biles, County Administrator, Jack Mariano, Ramon Blanco and got no where. We spoke to Jack Mariano our zone county commissioner and he recused himself because he stated he might have to vote on a settlement for us. Finally 3 weeks later, AFTER Mr. Biles and Pasco County officials were discussing our situation in detail with Mr. Voss's employer Quorum Services, LLC, I finally spoke with Dan Biles and he was very dismissive and claimed Sovereign Immunity and that we needed to go after Quorum Services, LLC. I then contacted Pasco County Risk Management and Steve Whitaker had no idea what was going on. He attempted to find out for over 2 weeks and couldn't get anyone in Building Inspections to respond to him, allegedly. Once he finally did, we spoke and he also claimed Sovereign Immunity and stated and I quote " the only way our lawyer says you can get anything out of us, is if you had an air test prior to the changeout, we enjoy Sovereign Immunity". So in conclusion, the attitude of Pasco County Building Inspections and the County Admin and Risk Department is basically lets conspire, collude and cover up to deny any claim a citizen files against us. These people were covering themselves and did so for weeks BEFORE calling the actual citizen. Pasco County Building Inspections need to be audited and controlled to protect the citizens. There are no such protections in place at this time to my knowledge. These falsified inspections harm health happiness and home. These people are complicit in all of it from the top down. It seems Dan Biles is more concerned with covering himself, his job and his vendors as opposed to the health and safety of his citizens."
