Reviews of FGUA
"Long story short ? 2 water leaks on their side. June 1 , ‘24. Since then I’ve spoken with 3 people all saying will take time to adjust water bill. Now ? I get notice water will be turned off next few days. Now Aug ! No adjustments. Live by myself. My stomach in knots. I feel like left hand doesn’t know what right hand is doing. Going to office and hope to get a supervisor. I’m 72 and can’t sleep. Horrible."
"Worst water company around. Charge high rates. Leave you without water for 8+hours with children and special needs elderly and when you call to ask about it, told to call during business hours and file complaint. No eta on service returning and the workers are laughing and having a good time while we have no water to flush the toilets."
"Seeing a company being rated 1.2 of 5 stars makes it comical that they’re even in business. So allow me to add another one star review for the terrible service I’ve experienced these last four days. They’ll cut your water off on a Friday knowing they’re closed over the weekend, forcing you to go two days without water. When questioned as to why I wasn’t notified by call, text, or email that there was an issue, the response will be “the paper on your door is your indicator”. They’ll tell you it’s your fault for not knowing about the new changes to their policies, when not even their own employees know about the changes. The miscommunication and lack of knowledge among their employees will cost you extra money that they won’t give back. If you call and get a lady named Maria on the phone, just hang up and call back. She talks down to you and treats you as if you calling is an inconvenience and she won’t help you. I requested to be transferred over to a manager who wasn’t available so I left a message. I’m waiting for her to get back to me"
"They stated their technician came out to activate water and noticed water was running when in fact NO water was running and locked my meter back up. Called to get an explanation and stated for them to come back its another $125! Had them come back the next day waiting with my chair propped by the meter....turns it on and nothing running! Says,,,,oh oops maybe it wasn't! SCAMMING CON ARTISTS LIARS! This is the scam they're running when turning water--on and off to make another $125 for a return visit! BEWARE AND BE KNOWLEDGABLE when activating your water...be home!"
"My mom is a new customer and so far, it's been an awful experience. She submitted her application on Monday, April 29th. It was approved on Wednesday, April 30th. The next day, the previous owner submitted a request to terminate her service. Wendy with FGUA emailed to let her know she would check at the end of day for the lady's form and would "move you back into this location and get your account made". We expected the service would be transferred to my mom's name with no interruption. Today, they shut off her water! Now they want her to pay a $75 fee so they can come back out to turn it back on. They take no responsibility for their failure to provide a smooth transition and service to the customer AND expect the customer to pay for their lack of service. What's worse is they have a monopoly so the customer has no choice but to do business with them. I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back to, hopefully, remedy the situation. My advice: don't live in any place where this company has a monopoly on water service. Duke energy and OUC are way better."
