"Beautiful interior. Tons of fresh delicious baked goods. The coconut pastry was unreal. Variety of coffee drinks from Mammoth roasters."
"I’d be in serious trouble if I lived nearby I Ayu Bakehouse. Like for real, the pastries are chef’s kiss. Flakey and soft, and crunchy all in the right spots. Luckily, we were here just for the day, but we tried enough to get a good idea of which goodies we really loved. I ordered the pain au chocolates, which was good, but probably would’ve been next level if it were heated a tad, because I got some solid chocolatey bites. But I ain’t mad about it. I ate the whole thing! In fact, I moved onto their next twist on a NOLA staple, a muffuletta breadstick. Think of all the fixin’s in the classic sandwich twisted into a breadstick. Sounds good right?yep, sure was. My only regret was I never finished the whole thing because I left it out overnight and forgot about it for a day. The next item was my absolute favorite, a massive croissant, filled with a peach champagne filling, topped with a white chocolate Bavarian cream. Oh. My. Word. Your aunt Edna would be telling her Sunday bible study group all about that one time she had the best croissant in New Orleans; that’s if your aunt Edna had this croissant. It was that good. Lastly, I had their latte (1 shot espresso, with whole milk). That latte was done to perfection. Highly recommend Ayu Bakehouse!!"
"Everything was better than expected! 10/10-Food & coffee 10/10-bathroom /cleanliness of bathroom Best was the Muffaletta stick! Loved it. Nothing was too sweet. Everything perfect. The biscuit was pretty dense. Flavorful but not light & fluffy at all. I can’t wait to go back"
"This little bakery is in a great spot with a neighborhood feel. It's pretty small and seating is limited. There's a small outdoor seating area too, which is nice when weather allows. We visited twice, for breakfast on Friday and to grab a cappuccino on Saturday morning. The pastries were very good. We loved the crawfish croissant and matcha pastry particularly. The Pride edition croissant with passionfruit filling was lovely too, and messy fun to eat. My cappuccino was creamy and tasty. The staff was friendly enough, but maybe a touch short of NOLA standards. Nothing that would keep me from returning, and I'll definitely visit again when I'm back in town."
"I love bakeries and I found Ayu to be a particularly delightful one. The place is spacious and would be great to dine in but we went there twice and in both cases we opted for something to take away. The counter shows a glorious selection of both sweet and savory options. We focused on the savory and were really satisfied. Staff friendly and extremely pleasant to chat with. Would totally go back next time in NOLA!"
