"Nice little roadside attraction to stop at to take a break and stretch your legs a bit from long drives, it's not every day you get to see a living piece of history preserved on your drive up to a major city. We missed this hidden gem when we first drove up to Alachua as it was a blink and you'll miss it moment, but on our way back home to Tampa, we managed to find it and quickly took the opportunity to get pictures by it and learn a little bit of history on a nice little information plaque placed by the creek that it's next to. The train itself was very well taken care of based on the fresh coat of paint it received recently and the fencing protecting it from vandals and the elements of mother nature. Whilst I wish we could have climbed aboard the cab for better photo opportunities, I can understand why they fenced it off out of safety. Overall, it's a great quiet spot to hang out by if you need a break and if you're a rail enthusiast. Definitely stop by when you can as you never know how long this will be there for before it disappears."

"Stop here with Roy,our papillon so he can pee or whatever. We stretch and walk,have been doing this for about 8 years ,on our way to property we have on the Suwannee River, we also stop on the return trip.This spot is like an old friend,safe and welcoming and there is a beautiful little creek running through the back if the property. Roy,Karen and I will be back. Thanks"
