"My brother had a knee replacement with a lot of complications afterwards. He did a metal allergy testing to find he was highly allergic to nickel and is having to undergo a revision. I spoke with my doctor about doing the metal allergy testing before my replacement surgery and he agreed it was a good idea. The whole process was very simple. I got my results back showing that I too was highly allergic to nickel. My replacement surgery was two days ago with a nickel free implant. My pain and swelling have been mild. So thankful I did the testing with full support of my doctor."

"I was told the test was not covered by insurance by my doctor. The only problem I have with it is, the solution I was told was to have surgery and if it turned out I was allergic to the metals used, I would have to have a second surgery to replace the parts I'm allergic to. So why would insurance rather pay for two surgeries versus one test when I've already had the allergy listed in my medical files? Anyway, you order the test. You receive the test and pay for it. You take it to doctor for blood draw, then you must immediately ship it back. I AM reactive to Nickel. I'm glad I took the test. My only advice is to make sure the doctor's office filled out ALL fields in the forms otherwise you may not get the results yourself."

"I'm having bilateral total TMJ replacement. It was suggested by my doctor to have a metal sensitivity test prior to surgery. I ordered the test online. It arrived quickly. Everything I needed was included. I simply took the box to my local draw station and they followed the directions in the box. Blood samples were put back in the original packaging and I dropped it off at FedEx. Within 10 days I had my results in an email. The results were easy to read. My doctor also received the results. Best decision I ever made! Turns out I'm off the chart sensitive to nickel. Disaster with my prosthetic jaws avoided thanks to this test!!"

The metals and particles test results showed I had a nickel allergy that I was not aware of. I had a nickel free shoulder implant put in place and have no pain at all. The test was not covered by insurance but well worth the cost. The test kit was mailed to me, I completed the kit as directed and over nighted the kit back. I received results one week after Orthopedic Analysis received the kit back to them. I was also kept infirm of the kit status.
